1 in every 30 children in the U.S. is homeless.
Fred Jordan came to the streets of Skid Row in 1944 to help men, because there were there were no women on the streets in those days - - Thank God!
Today, however, 84% of homeless families in America are headed by single women. Over 92% of these homeless mothers have experienced severe physical and/or sexual abuse, and children are exposed to these acts of violence.
Jesus placed a high priority on children. “When people brought little children to Jesus to have him touch them, the disciples scolded them and sent them away.
Jesus became indignant, and He said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them. And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. (Mark 10:13-16 (NIV)
The Mission attempts to follow this example of Jesus – teaching and blessing the children and their mothers, and helping rebuild their lives and their families.
