Resurrection on Skid Row - 2017

The glory of Christ’s Resurrection came to the streets of Skid Row on Easter Saturday!

Hundreds of families, children, and single men and women filled the street three times, sitting at beautifully decorated tables in the streets of downtown Los Angeles., as they enjoyed a lively Worship Band from Harvest OC.

A lively Worship Band from Harvest OC played at the three services. And Easter messages of Resurrection hope were shared by Jonathan Laurie, son of my nephew, Pastor Greg, and my son, Peter Jordan. When the invitation was given at the close of each service, many of our homeless guests came to the altar for salvation and prayer. Please pray for the Lord to guide these new believers.

Hundreds of compassionate volunteers served a delicious Easter dinner of Barbecued Chicken, Rice, Green Beans, and a roll. The meal was topped off with a Peach/Mango/Blueberry Cobbler!

When our homeless guests left, they were given Food Bags filled with fresh produce, blankets, and new socks. And hundreds of children received beautiful Easter baskets that had been lovingly filled with toys and candy by dozens of young high school volunteers from Dallas, Texas when they spent their Spring Break at the Mission.

My special thanks to our partners who donated the funds for this Resurrection Celebration on Skid Row; to the volunteers who served our homeless guests so lovingly, and to everyone who prayed for this amazing day. Thank you!

Your grateful servant,

Willie Jordan
