I want to thank you for helping us serve precious women and their children on Skid Row by volunteering at our 2018 Mother’s Day Celebration at Fred Jordan Mission.
You were the hands and feet of Jesus to women who have been abandoned and forgotten by society. Through your service, you reminded them that God loves them . . . and that someone cares. They had the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, who redeems broken lives. And they sat down to a nourishing meal, thanks to your help.
The streets of Skid Row are cruel and dangerous—and they’re certainly no place for women and children. But thanks to volunteers like you, our guests experienced kindness . . . and the love of Jesus.
There are many ways you could have chosen to spend a Saturday in May, but you chose to spend it with us on Skid Row, reaching out to hurting women who desperately needed to know that God loves them. You gave them something to celebrate on Mother’s Day weekend.
We’re reminded in Proverbs that “whoever is kind to the needy honors God” (14:31 niv). May God bless you for honoring Him in this way.
Your most grateful servant,
Willie L. Jordan
(Mrs. Fred Jordan)
