Don't Push Children Away

Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving more than 6 million children – and little Robert is one.

The United States has one of the worst records of child abuse among industrialized nations – and between four and seven children die every day due to child abuse and neglect.

Mark 10:13-14 (MSG) says: “The people brought children to Jesus, hoping He might touch them. The disciples shooed them off.

But Jesus was irate and let them know it: "Don't push these children away. Don't ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom.”

Robert’s sadistic father did everything he could to keep his own children from Jesus, just as the disciples did so long ago. And every time I think of Robert, I am brought to tears.
