Outreach Training Center

Fred Jordan founded the ministry in 1944 with God-given burdens to win the lost and train believers in personal evangelism.  He immediately opened the American Soul Clinic to help train “spiritual doctors and nurses” in personal evangelism.

Willie Jordan came to this center as a teenager.  The hands-on training she received helped prepare her for a lifetime of serving Jesus by serving the poor.  More than 70 years later, the same values and compassion help guide Fred Jordan Missions’ ministries.

The Outreach Training Center (OTC, previously the Center for Evangelism and Outreach) opened in the Spring of 2014. It has been modeled after the one Fred began in 1944 and offers Pastors, laypeople, youth groups, and college groups the opportunity to learn evangelism through hands-on experience.  The OTC is equipped with dormitories for weekend and week-long stays.

The OTC gives a new generation of servant leaders the tools necessary to share the gospel, show hearts of compassion to the lost, and extend hands of mercy to the hurting – ensuring the continuation of the Mission’s legacy of evangelism and compassion ministries.

HOW WILL CHURCHES BENEFIT FROM THE OUTREACH TRAINING CENTER?

Pastors, laypeople, and youth coming to the Outreach Training Center will be involved in hands-on ministry to the poor. This interaction between the poor and the more affluent will open both groups to transformation, as they learn from each other, and give and receive from each other. What an amazing demonstration of Jesus’ love!

We pray that following a day or longer at the OTC, churches will be inspired and encouraged to fulfill the Great Commission in new ways within their communities. We pray they will see a new commitment to their mission to reach their world for Christ, and that their leaders will be encouraged through a fresh infusion of intentional evangelism among their members.

We also pray that their local churches will grow, for there is something special when an entire congregation unites with the specific purpose of taking Jesus to the streets.  Lives are changed, and the kingdom of God increases.
