Life or Death?

Did you know that your support of the Mission can sometimes mean the difference between life and death?

This point became very clear one day when we went into one of our inner city parks to share God’s love and feed hungry families. A little eight-year-old girl was walking through the park when she was suddenly caught in the cross-fire of a gang shooting and was struck in the head with a stray bullet! Just a few minutes earlier, my son, Joe, had stood in the exact spot proclaiming the gospel of salvation to the families and children. This little girl came within inches of losing her life! But thank God, she recovered.

A Los Angeles police officer turned to my son and said, “Joe, that little girl was shot right where you stood preaching. A few minutes earlier, and you would have been shot!”

How grateful I am that the risen Christ came to bring new life and hope to inner city families and children like this precious little child. Can you think of a better time to share this resurrection message than at Easter, the time when we celebrate Christ’s final victory over death? While they are here at the Mission, these families and children don't have to worry about the violent streets of our city. They have a few moments of rest and hope... a moment of life.

My heart cries out, “Oh, if only we could reach more people with the message of Christ’s Resurrection power!” Please HELP increase the Light of Jesus in these dark streets this Easter season – www.fjm.org is our secure website for your Easter offering. Or phone 1-844-FJM-FOOD. YOU can HELP bring resurrection hope to Skid Row streets.

Blessings,
