Pray for Mothers on Skid Row

Okay, Moms, take a deep breath. It’s the beginning of another long week, and with your job description, you’ll need it!

Driver, cook, housekeeper, gardener, and bookkeeper, to name just a few. Many of you mothers do all that, plus you work outside the home, and you single moms do even more!

I’m the mother of seven children, so I understand the demands on mothers! But I have some great news - - Motherhood is a high calling from God to women!

God’s angel said to the virgin Mary, "Greetings, you are highly favored! The Lord is with you."

Mothers, I know that you and I didn’t give birth to God’s Son, Jesus, but every mother gives birth to a child whom God wants to use - - not only Mary’s child. And we as mothers must pray for our children to allow God’s will in their lives.

My late husband, Fred and I prayed daily for our children. But sadly, most of the mothers here on Skid Row didn’t have parents who prayed for them, and now that they are mothers, they don’t know how to pray for their own children.

This Mother’s Day I would like to give mothers here in the inner city the gift of your prayers. May I sign your first name in a Mother’s Day card, assuring a lonely mother here on Skid Row that you’re praying for her? (No address, of course).

Please go to our website and give me your first name only: FJM.org. Or send a note, telling me that you will pray for mothers here on Skid Row, Willie Jordan, PO BOX 12345, Covina, CA 91722. And if you can enclose a donation to help these little families, I will be very grateful.

PRAYER FOR INNER CITY MOTHERS: “Lord, please help inner city mothers receive Jesus, the Bread of Life, as You provide daily bread for their children. May they find spiritual strength in Your Word, so they bring their children to faith in your Son, Jesus. Please protect and provide for these precious mothers and their children. Amen”

Blessings,

Willie Jordan (Mrs. Fred Jordan)
