Warm Embrace of Christ
“Faith is not a distant view but a warm embrace of Christ,” said the great reformer John Calvin.
Calvin said: “Faith is not a distant view, but a warm embrace of Christ, by which He dwells with us, and we are filled with the divine Spirit.”
When we receive Christ as our Savior, we are the temple of the living God. God said, "I will dwell in them, walk among them; I will be their God, they shall be my people.”
This is the warm embrace of Christ that John Calvin wrote about.
An embrace means to hold someone closely, as a sign of affection. God’s love for mankind caused Him to send His Son, Jesus to the cross, to provide our salvation. The warm embrace of Christ is eternal.
Since 1944, Fred Jordan Missions has been here in Los Angeles, sharing God’s love with homeless, hungry, lonely people. We tell them that Jesus Christ is ready to warmly embrace them with His forgiveness and salvation.
