Behold, the Lamb of God
When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming towards him, he shouted, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.”
John saw Jesus coming towards him, he called out, “Behold, the Lamb of God! This is the One. This is the Word, God, who became flesh.”
The next day John saw Jesus passing by, and again he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” His message never changed.
I was a teenager when I first came to Skid Row to share God’s love. Most of my friends here on the streets are the kinds of people Jesus hung out with - - ex-cons, drug addicts, drug dealers and prostitutes. And like John the Baptist, our message is still the same, “Behold, the Lamb of God,” for He is the only One who takes away sin.
I have had the joy of sharing God’s love with men and women all over the world, many of whom have sunk so low that even they believed God couldn’t forgive them. Yet, on the authority of God’s Word, I can tell them that Jesus, the Lamb of God, forgives sin, no matter what they’ve done.
Since my late husband, Fred, founded the Mission on Skid Row in 1944, we have shared God’s love with lost souls, but we have never done it alone. All of this good work – God’s work – has been done in partnership with compassionate friends like you. Will you help us today, as we continue to proclaim the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
Blessings,
Willie Jordan
