Do You Want to Know Jesus?
My late husband, Fred often said, “If you want to know Jesus, read the Gospel of John. The Gospel of John will tell you more about the person and the character of Jesus Christ than any other book.”
Matthew gives us the genealogy of Christ, then tells of His conception and birth. Mark tells of Christ’s baptism by John. Luke gives us the announcement and details of His birth. But John goes back to the beginning, into all eternity past, and presents the eternal Christ.
John said: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.”
Jesus is eternal. He existed with God from the beginning. Christ was God. This means that our Savior knows all about us – the secrets of our hearts, our needs, and sorrows.
The human heart has always had a deep longing for God that only God, Himself could have placed there. So God sent His Only Son, Jesus, to satisfy that longing by paying the penalty for our sins through His death, burial and resurrection. And Jesus restores our relationship with God that was broken in the Garden.
Since 1944, thanks to the generosity of friends like you, Fred Jordan Mission has been telling the Good News that Jesus offers forgiveness and salvation to all who believe.
Will you help?
Blessings,
Willie Jordan
