God Named the Baby

Christmas is in the air! Colorful trees, sparkling lights, the beautiful sounds of Christmas carols, the smells of cookies baking in the oven, shoppers rushing home with their treasures, and little children eagerly anticipating the arrival of Santa. But sadly, the arrival of the Christmas season simply points out the vast chasm between the poor, and the rest of the nation.

I need your help to bring a bit of the peace of Bethlehem here to the dangerous, cold streets of Skid Row. The Christ Child is the hope of Christmas!

An angel said to Joseph, “She will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." God Himself named the baby, and He told Joseph the purpose of His birth – He will save His people from their sins.

I like the way C.S. Lewis put it, "The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God."

Fred Jordan Mission is serving thousands of precious souls who are coming to us at this Christmas season – children, families, the elderly, the sick. All of them will be looking for food, warm clothes, blankets, toys. But more than anything else, they are all looking for hope, and thanks to our Father God, we have the joy of sharing the Good News that Jesus is our Christmas hope!

1-844-FJM-FOOD is our Christmas donation line, or donate on our secure website, www.fjm.org. Or if you prefer, please write to me here at the Mission: Willie Jordan, PO Box 12345, Covina, CA 91722. Please, it’s almost Christmas.

I urgently need your help to buy Christmas food for Family Food bags, hot meals to be served in the Mission’s dining room, blankets and warm clothes for those who shiver in the cold, and new toys for precious little children. But most important of all, when you give, we will share Jesus, the hope of Christmas. It’s His birthday we celebrate, after all.

Christmas Blessings!

Willie Jordan (Mrs. Fred Jordan)
