God's Care for the World
I believed there is truth in the saying: “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
Jesus was the most forceful, demanding teacher who has ever lived. He was the one who taught that even one’s closest family members must give way to loyalty to him, and that the true disciple must be willing to “bear his cross” for the Master (Matthew 10:34-39).
But does Jesus really care about you and me? How can one account for His amazing popularity today, more than 2000 years after He taught these lessons?
I believe that everything we need to know about how much God cares for us can be seen in this one sentence: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
No honest person could read this sentence and deny that God cares! Jesus’ willingness to be crucified for the sins of the world shows how much He cares! He paid the penalty for your sins and mine. He offers forgiveness, salvation, and eternity with Him.
God’s incredible love for sinful humanity clearly shows Him to be a Savior who is worthy of our worship and our devotion. Have you trusted Him to be your Savior?
