Have You Won a Soul to Christ?
My late husband, Fred Jordan, often asked the question: “Have you won a soul to Christ in the last week, the last month, the last year? If not, why not?”
Fred Jordan was the greatest personal soul winner I have never known. He challenged every believer to become part of God’s mission in the world, to seek and to save the lost. And he often sent a gospel tract to our listeners for them to use as a way to start a conversation to share the gospel.
Dwight Hendrick heard Fred on this daily radio broadcast, accepted his challenge, and called to request a gospel tract. Fred sent a note with the tract, challenging Dwight to give it to someone before he went to bed that night.
Dwight was a foreman for a huge utility plant in the Valley, working from 4pm to midnight. He said that gospel tract was burning a hole in his shirt pocket as he climbed the giant towers hundreds of feet in the air that evening. He talked with many of his men, but he didn’t have the nerve to give the gospel tract to anyone.
Finally, at 11:45pm, as he made his last round on the highest tower, he met one of his crew, quickly handed him the tract, and timidly asked, “Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?” Tomorrow, the man’s response, and I guarantee, it will amaze you.
I leave you with Fred’s question: “Have you won a soul to Christ in the last week, the last month, the last year? If not, why not?”
Blessings,
Willie L. Jordan (Mrs. Fred Jordan)
