"I Will be With You" (God)

Think for a moment of some of the great men of the faith whom God used – Dwight L. Moody, John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, Hudson Taylor, William Booth, Fred Jordan, Billy Graham. They were all very ordinary men, but they gave their all to follow God’s call.

Like the Disciples, these men were a collection of nobodies. They weren’t wealthy, powerful, influential or well educated. But God said, “They’ll do.” And they turned the world upside down!

The most significant thing about these men is the promise that God made to Moses: “I will be with you.” God’s presence and power makes all the difference!

A Moses persuades a Pharaoh, a multitude is fed by a lad’s box lunch, the mighty Roman Empire is toppled by a little band of faithful nobodies, and a dark and gloomy Friday gives way to a glorious Easter resurrection, all because of God’s promise: “I will be with you.”

Success in God’s kingdom is not dependent upon our talent, our goodness, or our hard work. No, success in God’s kingdom is dependent upon the power of God at work in our lives. And nothing else!

We give what we have, and God promises: “I will be with you!” Never underestimate the power of God’s presence!

Please help us share the glory of God’s presence here on Skid Row.

Blessings,

Willie Jordan
