Who Holds You Up In Prayer?

When the Lord took my husband, Fred, I thought I couldn’t live. How could I go on without him by my side?

I did live, of course. And I realized that Deuteronomy 7:9 is still in the Book: “Know therefore that the LORD . . . is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments”

Several weeks after Fred’s death, I said to a friend, “I don’t know how I am still breathing. When Fred died, I thought I would die, too.” My very wise friend said, “Willie, you are being held up by the prayers of thousands of your friends, and friends of the Mission.”

Recently, when I shared this conversation with my staff, my heart sank. I suddenly realized how incredibly blessed I am to have praying friends - - and I also realized there are so many people who don’t have anyone to hold them up in prayer, no one to turn to in times of struggles, illness, or even the death of a loved one.

Do you have anyone to hold you up to the Lord in prayer? The Bible says, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

I want to obey this Scripture, and offer you our prayers today. My staff and I would be humbled, and deeply honored, to pray with you. Simply write out the things that are close to your heart, the burdens that you carry, and we pray for our faithful God to meet your needs.

Mail your prayer needs to me, Willie Jordan, PO BOX 12345, Covina, CA 91722.
