Be Love

Dear Friend,

February is a beautiful month, especially with Valentine’s Day at its core. As Hallmark cards, flowers, and candy boxes fly off the shelves, we are reminded of the world’s impression of love. I am proud to be a contributor to this expression, as my wife, Kris, and I always celebrate Valentine’s Day together.

However, I also want you to know that you are loved! This letter is not a Valentine’s message but a realization of what love means and how we should extend it to those around us, not just in February but throughout the year.

To emphasize this point, here are five key Scripture verses that I want you to note:

John 15:12: “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”

Mark 12:31: “‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

1 Corinthians 13:4: “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up.”

1 Corinthians 16:14: “Let all that you do be done with love.”

Lastly, my personal favorite is:

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

We must not ever forget that Jesus is the greatest gift of love ever given! He died for our sins, and the sins of the entire world, and His love extends to everyone, whether they live in suburbia, on Skid Row, or in a cardboard box under a bridge. His love is everlasting.

I pray that these Scriptures encourage you to show the love of Jesus to those in your life and extend a helping hand to those who need to feel loved.

This month, please help us go the extra mile to make our guests who come through our doors:

  1. Know that Jesus loves them with an everlasting love in all circumstances.

  2. Feel our love through compassionate actions like feeding, clothing, and assisting them in their troubled situations.

Please consider giving generously out of the love and goodness in your heart.

May God bless you abundantly,

JOE JORDAN
