Our doors remain open!

I am sure you heard the challenge “Finish Strong” over the past several weeks. It was the common anthem from many great organizations and ministries worldwide to help them end 2021 in the black. You may have even heard me utter the phrase “Help us finish strong” on our FJM.TV broadcast, through our social media platforms or other correspondence, and you rose to the challenge.

When I think of the hundreds of thousands of people Jesus touched through Fred Jordan Missions in 2021, the millions of pounds of food we distributed throughout Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley, and the multitude of meals served to those in need last year; I liken it to running a race.

In a relay race, the anchor leg is the final position. Typically, this runner is the fastest or most experienced competitor on their team. Their job is to make up ground on the race or maintain the lead already secured by their teammates, ultimately finishing strong.

One commonly held misconception is that the fastest runner should automatically be the anchor leg, running last with the baton. However, the relay’s first runner must be able to start well, get off the mark and up to speed quickly, and not be likely to falter or begin prematurely.

I love what the Bible states about races in Hebrews 12:1. The end of this verse says, “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” I also appreciate 1 Corinthians 9:24, which says, “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.”

At Fred Jordan Missions, the starting gun has sounded for 2022, and we are out of the blocks—starting strong and running fast! Will you help us continue our momentum with a generous gift?

Our doors remain open, and our distribution center is in full swing sorting fresh produce, dairy, and meats, and our trucks are fueled and ready to head to impoverished neighborhoods with groceries, clothing, and life’s essentials to serve the needy.

With sicknesses spiking, food insecurities abounding, more businesses closing, and jobs diminishing, we have a greater responsibility to share God’s love with the hurting and help meet the needs of those suffering its effects than ever before. We are counting on you to stand with us.

Fred Jordan Missions is out of the blocks. So, let’s start strong together!

God Bless,

Joe Jordan
