QUENCHING THIRST, GIVING HOPE.

“Can I have a drink of water?”

That is the most frequently asked question at Fred Jordan Missions, and the answer is always “YES.”

Desperate, hopeless, and helpless Americans live on the streets of Skid Row. We don’t know how they got here; everyone has a different story, but without a doubt, the one thing we know they all have in common is this: they are thirsty.

HOW DO WE HELP THEM AT FJM?

Our doors are open all day to provide a variety of cold drinks, from water to Gatorade to Vitamin water, as we aim to offer them good, healthy hydration options.

August is one of the hottest months and one of the most challenging for FJM to operate, which is why your financial support is vital.

While our friends on Skid Row may come to us for a simple drink of water, we open our doors and invite them into our chapel (this is the part I love and why I am serving at FJM). There, we tell them the physical water they seek will always leave them wanting more, and they will be thirsty again.

But then we share this good news with them: If you want NEVER TO BE THIRSTY, you must put your trust in JESUS. In the Bible, Jesus says, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:13-14).

We are dedicated to sharing the truth of the Gospel of Jesus and helping people find relief and contentment for today. Most importantly, we want them to have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
