Christmas at The Mission
Now that Thanksgiving is over, we are in the midst of the holiday season, frantically working through our “To-Do List” to prepare for Christmas. It is hard to believe that Christmas is already upon us, but we are excited to serve those in Jesus’ name at Fred Jordan Missions.
Although the bumper sticker slogan “Jesus is the reason for the season” continues to be popular, the essence of Christmas truly lies in the act of giving.
For over 80 years, Fred Jordan Missions has been a beacon of hope and compassion for individuals living on Skid Row and beyond —from the struggling addict and the failed businessman to the distressed mother, abandoned sister, and lonely child.
These individuals are not defined by their poverty but by their deep-seated need for help, hope, love, and, most of all, Jesus.
Some of our staff recently spoke with Gigi, a friend living on Skid Row. She expressed her profound appreciation for FJM and said that sitting outside the Mission during the day allows her to hear the message of Jesus and how much He loves her. Gigi described feeling safe at FJM—a place where she senses God’s presence distinctly and a space filled with love. Love was born in a manger on Christmas Day, and His name is Jesus. Every Christmas at Fred Jordan Missions, we celebrate that truth as the ultimate gift of love to the world.

This holiday season, we invite you to spread joy and kindness and share the beautiful story of Jesus, who came to this world to save you, me, and all those in need.
Will you help us celebrate the gift of Jesus with those in need this Christmas? Without you, we cannot do it—but with your partnership, we will continue to declare and demonstrate the love of Jesus as we have for 80 years.
This year, children will receive brand-new donated bikes, clothes, shoes, and baby essentials. We will also bless their families with family-sized food boxes packed with whole chickens, fresh produce, and all the trimmings.
While it is on your heart and mind, will you extend a hand of generosity right now? Your Christmas contribution will bring comfort, joy, and the hope of Jesus to those who need it most.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate this holiday season.
Merry Christmas,
JOE JORDAN
