What does “Love” look like?
What does “Love” look like?
That question was recently posed to me. I didn’t answer it immediately but wanted to think about what that really meant to me...
It would have been easy and truthful for me to say, “Jesus,” because He is what “Love” looks like. After all, my favorite Scripture is John 3:16, which states, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
As a preacher, I could go further into the Scriptures and point out what it says in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 which is, “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
By the way, these are great principles to live by.
But, when I begin to think about what “Love” really looks like, and then apply it to my daily life, work, passions, and what and who I am as a person, I had to answer that question by saying:
Love has ears - so it can hear the sighs and cries of brokenness...
Love has eyes - so it can see the hurt and pain of fallen humanity...
Love has feet - so it can go and minister to the poor and needy...
Love has hands - so it can help those who have nothing...
Therefore, “Love” extends itself wholeheartedly in order to reach out, pick up, and share hope - both spiritually and physically - to those in need.

Will you help me show others what “Love” looks like in the month of February? Will you help me declare and demonstrate God’s love to the lost and hurting of our city?
